Can anyone offer advice on white staining on blue towels?
I just purchased new blue towels for my kid's bathroom. After washing the towels and using them for a few days, the towels now have have white staining on them. Someone suggested that maybe it had something to do with the laundry detergent. I am using Tide HE with a touch of Downy fabric softner. There is no bleach in the Tide as far as I know but it almost looks like areas of the towels have been bleached? Anyone else experience this problem with their towels?

SAME THING, WHITE SPOTS ON NAVY TOWELS! I SPENT A FORTUNE ON THOSE, BOUGHT 8 SETS AT KOHLS, THE BIG ONE HOUSE BRAND PAID LESS THEN 2.50 PER TOWEL IN NAVY AND ADVISED MY SON TO SET THE COLOR 1 USE COLD WATER AND 1 CUP WHITE VINEGAR AND LET IT SOAK IN THE WASHER ON SOAK CYCLE FOR 20 MINUTES THAN RINSE, SPIN AND DRY NO FABRIC SOFTNER OF COURSE. THESE TOWELS STILL LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS. JUST SAYING THIS HAS WORKED ALL THE TIME FOR ME. MIGHT TAKE TOWELS BACK TO STORE WHERE BOUGHT?

Inappropriate?I just had the same problem as you with the same brand from the same store. I was very upset considering over time I ended up throwing away a complete set of 8 towels, hand towels and wash clothes. Every time I pulled a new towel out to use it the same thing happened. By the next day it would actually look as if I bleached them. My towels were the light green and they ended up with yellow blotches all over them. It's not the laundry detergent because I didn't wash them first. I tested everything in my bathroom to try and figure it out but couldn't. I'm going to purchase another set of 2 each and try the cold water/vinegar trick "Nancy" suggested. I did emai Kohl's Customer Service line today before I even saw your posting. I googled the problem out of curiousity.

Inappropriate?Happens to me too -- we Use Tide HE as well but with Febreze. Definitely not a problem limited to RL towers purchased at Kohls! What's going on??
