Clean Clothes for the homeless.
I have a concern regarding the homeless in my are of New Bern, North Carolina. Having clean clothes and linen would cause them to feel a part of a caring community.

Inappropriate?I work at a homeless kitchen/closet. Our people are in dire need of clean clothes... they have no money to take them to a washer.. .would be great to get individual load size donations sent to the various centers here in Fl. and elsewhere.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Good idea ~ when I stayed in a homeless shelter with my kids we were lucky enough to have one washing machine and a lady that ran it for the 50 -100 people in the shelter. Each lady was entitled to wash one load a week, more if you had kids. It was wonderful!
I’m confident

Inappropriate? Some homeless friends we know NEED a truck to come this way. I'm organizing an event for the homeless and others to work and it would be nice for them to have clean clothes to work. How do we create action instead of just talking about it?

Inappropriate?I worked on some homeless outreach programs and this is one thing I would love due to the fact they need it. I am in RIverside Ca. and so hopefully there will be something Tide can do to help the homeless here. :)
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I think this is a wonderful idea. I am currently working on helping 2 local shelters in the Phoenix, AZ area. How cool would it be to have the Tide truck show up and clean their clothes. Just because they are homless does'nt mean they don't need clean clothes. Lets all pay it forward.

Inappropriate? Thanks to everyone for your interest! We love your ideas! Currently the program is designed to help families affected by natural disaster. This mission was set in response to Katrina, when Loads of Hope was born. I will discuss this idea with the team and all of your wonderful input!

Hi Andrea,
Should the mission continue to expand (which we all hope it does), I work for a non-profit connecting the underserved homeless population in Orange County, CA- and would LOVE to partner with you. Our website ifhomeless.org -
Hi Andrea - We have many homeless living on the streets here in Austin, Tx. It would be great if Loads of Love could help with information on how to implement this idea on a smaller scale for communities that recognize the need and desire to help the homeless. Just knowing that they could have clean clothes on a regular basis would go miles in helping to give them the dignity they are entitled to as children of God. With the hot weather upon us, it would be the answer to a real need for many. I know there are many others who would love to help implement this gesture of hope here. Thank you for all you do to make the world a more caring and compassionate place for those most in need during their times of greatest heartache. Blessings to you! -
Inappropriate?I'm thinking of starting a non-profit in the d.c. northern va. area which provides clean clothes for the homeless. i would appreciate any bits of knowledge anyone has. THANKS!!!!

Inappropriate?Linda, my dad felt like you did and all by himself he began a program to help the homeless do their laundry in our community here in Florida. He was recently featured in our local newspaper, I can send you the link if you email me at silvercross32771@yahoo.com.

Inappropriate?I am the Associate Director at The Bridge, a daily drop-in center for homeless and food insecure individuals and families. One of my colleagues suggested that I look into Loads of Hope for our guests, as we are well aware of what is being done in time of disaster and thought it might be something that could be expanded. Our tension is that while we provide clean clothing to those who need a change of clothing... we do not have the means to launder their clothes that are soiled, so often times they just throw them away.
If we could have a way to provide laundry services for our guests... that would be wonderful. We find that most want to be self-sufficient, they just need some help to do so.
Thank you so much...
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Thank God I'm not the only one thinking about the homeless in our communities! We thank The Tide Team for your initiative to help the victims of disasters from hurricane relief and/or flooding. I would like to add Baltimore Md to the list for assistance in helping the homeless. I am the Director of Operations for a local nonprofit called The Samaritan Women and we have the same ideas as others to help the homeless in our cities.
I’m praying and thankful
