Community covered in MUDD from Flooding--HELP
Gowanda NY is covered in mudd from the flash flooding and raising waters of the past weeks storms...people lost everything and they cannot use the water to drink or cook with, let alone do laundry...
Is there any way Tide could help out and get there...it is a small community and are desperate for help...

Inappropriate?Jen - i'm sorry to hear about this. It sounds terrible.
Unfortunately, the number of natural disasters continues to rise with over 70 FEMA-declared disasters last year alone. While the we would like to respond to all of them, that's just not possible. So in partnership with Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), FEMA, and other local and state agencies, officials, and relief organizations, assesses a set of criteria such as the number of people affected and the level of need.
Our goal is to mobilize our Loads of Hope program where we can be the most help to others while ensuring the safety of our own staff and volunteers.
Nevertheless we want to help you. Is there a local laundromat and a handful of volunteers that could wash clothes of those affected? We could send some detergent your way to help out?
Please email us via the 'talk to tide' email section on the website if you are interested so we can discuss this directly.
Good luck with everything!
I’m hopeful!

Inappropriate?Gowanda NY has been hit with massive flooding. The reservoir has been destoyed. They currently have no water. Over 50 homes have been condemned, the hospital also has been condemned. The town is filled with mud and water. The National Guard has been brought to assist with mud and water removal and rebuilding of roads to get fresh water in to these people. They are told they can't even wash their hands with the water that is available. The people are in need of help and support. The temperatures have been so humid and yet there is no water for these people to bathe or clean the mud that has filled their homes and yards. I don't know what the criteria is for you to assist but this is a low income community in need of any help they can get. Hopefully you will consider this request. These folks are desperate and I can only imagine what some clean clothes would represent to them....
