I noticed the other night when I had washed my sheets and blankets with L&V Simple pleasures that when I was heating the bed up with the electric blanket prior to getting in my whole room smelled wonderful. Soon I won't be able to do that any more....................... It was like I was baking the scent into the room. I agree with the woman that said during tough times people are pinching pennies and if they can't get what they really want they might start buying generic. I noticed Wally World had a lavender vanilla scent detergent and softner which is what I will try next if I can't find any more L&V Tide. I am not going to order this off the net! Are you crazy? The shipping costs would be horrendous I am sure.

I agree I am not going to buy the stain release products either. They are expensive and I don't need them. I mean they just add to the junk in the laundry room now. I never buy Clorox 2 its just hydrogen peroxide with perfume and color added too it. It's cheaper to buy gallon jugs of 20 volume peroxide at the beauty supply. I can buy a gallon of peroxide for under 5 bucks and a little bottle of Clorox 2 cost 10 bucks. I checked out the stain release products and perhaps if you had a lot of stained clothes it might be worth it. But my kids usually out grew the clothes before they got too stained up and I as an adult make a special effort to keep my good clothes stain free. I too obtain many clothes second hand and believe you me I won't pay a bunch extra for stain removal products for them. Before I tried L&V I would had told you it was too expensive and not worth it but its like Crack once you try it you are hooked.

I love L&V but it seems we are going to have a bad breakup I will miss it but some other detergent will come along. I am thinking about the new Purex Laundry sheets or Laundry Dropps they seem interesting. Lighter and no measuring required. So its either that or the L&V from Wally World. Goodbye Tide it was good while it lasted.

Several people I've spoken to elsewhere have also mentioned the Wally World L&V and said they liked it. I'm not sure that it smells the same as my beloved Tide L&V, but then it's hard to tell by just sniffing the bottle. Tarjay also has their own lavender (but no vanilla) scent that was actually quite pleasant in the bottle. I may try that if I can't locate any more of the original. (Hint, Tide L&V would still be my preference, although I agree it'd have to be available locally or at least free shipping, since I agree the shipping fees would likely be prohibitive).

I did discover one interesting thing - Suave has a L&V shower soap. Maybe that will help to "tide" me over (no not in the washing machine - at least I'd smell good, if not my clothes).

I am also concerned with not being able to locate the original L&V tide. I have located Downy dryer sheet but nothing else. Why would they discontinue such a wonderful product? I am more than willing to make the purchase online and i love the scent so much that until the the scent returns, I'll be using Tide Free (unscented)

My last bottle only has a couple of washings-worth left, and I've been desperately looking for more...I bought two bottles two months ago on markdown at Walgreens...why didn't I take that as a hint to hoard a lot more bottles?! My sister-in-law said she felt like she was staying in an expensive spa hotel when she smelled the fresh sheets and coverings on our guest room bed. My daughter and I both LOVE this scent. I had not used Tide for years until they came out with this scent. After trying it, I didn't care how much it cost in order to have this scent on our sheets, towels, and pajamas. Sun (low-cost brand) still has lavendar vanilla but your clothes don't retain the scent the way they did with Tide L&V. So you get what you pay for, I guess. Tide does have plain lavendar now; I bought it last night, but haven't washed a load with it yet. I just know it won't be AS GOOD AS the original. I guess I'll use it though, unless someone tells me about a better pick - PLEASE!

Are they discontinuing Simple Pleasures totally? or are only certain stores selling it?

From reading here, it looks as if it's discontinued. Some people have been able to find leftovers of it. I actually just found some two days ago. I happened to be in a Shoppers Warehouse (I don't usually shop there) and there were two lone bottles of the 2X size, so I grabbed them. I suspect this is the last Tide I'll be buying. I don't like the other scents well enough to buy them, and I wouldn't pay what I'm afraid it would cost to buy it online. I had actually bought some much less expensive stuff at W-M that worked really well (not the lavender one, but a pleasant aroma and I needed something), so I'd probably buy something similar when these run out.

I am sad if this product is discontinued because I too have been looking for it everywhere. It has almost become an obsession. I do not usually comment on Tide products, but this one was a winner.

I just bought 8 more bottles of the detergent at $2.50 a bottle. Happy but bittersweet!

Arm and Hammer has some New "wet" dryer sheets in Lavender and Vanilla they were pretty price and Krogers (3.49) for 40 I thought about trying them.
