Tide HE causing a bad rash
I've used tide 'forever', only detergent that cleans without fail, never had a problem. However, two weeks ago my fiance brought home brand new Bosch front loader washer and dryer...beautiful. Went right out and bought Tide HE, got started right away laundering every thing in sight using the new detergent according to the directions. Suddenly my fiance has broken out in ichy irritating rashes all over his body. He was also brought up on Tide without problems previously. After giving him some benedryl and cortisone cream we have concluded the switch from regular Tide to the HE is the cause of his rash... I am not willing to switch to another brand knowing my laundry will no longer be nice and clean like Tide and wonder if Tide Free HE will solve the rashes and keep me in laundry heaven. Anyone out there have the same experience and what they have tried, please help-

Inappropriate?Hi Denise - i'm sorry to hear this. I would recommend calling our consumer help line on 1-800-879-8433 for help.
Tide Free for HE is worth a try, it is free of dyes and perfumes and dermatologist tested so hopefully it will do the trick!
Thanks,

Did your boyfriend break out immediately after you used the Tide HE? I was not using HE but the regular detergent called Clear Breeze. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I believe I have the same problem . Just started using Tide HE with bleach last week. After wearing the clothes I broke out in rash from head to toe. The worst was on my ankles and feet where the clothing is closeset to the skin. Saw a doctor who prescribed Prednisone. Only just happened and waiting for Prenisone to start working.

Inappropriate?I am havinig the same reaction. Purchased Tide HE @ Costco few weeks ago and started getting a rash when wearing the newly washed clothes. It seems acts like the allergic reaction I get if I wear nickel. Going to the store to purchase replacement detergent.
I’m Very Itchy

Inappropriate?Have you tried the HE Tide Free yet? I just posted an inquiry that is mild enough for my babys' clothes.

Inappropriate?Same problem here. Have had a rash, lower back and under arms, mostly, but all over if you look carefully. Rash started not long after switching to front loader. We HAVE been using the free version of the the Tide HE soap. Just saw the doc (3 months now into this), and his opinion confirmed mine. Got to find a new soap or go back to top loaders. Obviously, either the HE soap itself is the problem, or front loaders just don't rinse well enough and leave too much residue. We ALWAYS do a double rinse, but that doesn't help either. Our towels have a much courser feel than before top loaders. The water conservation features are not skin friendly!!!
If anyone can recommend another brand of HE free laundry soap, we'd love it a try. -
Inappropriate?I had the same thing happen to me. I called Procter & Gamble as soon as I realized it was the detergent that was making me itch from chest to toe and they said they hadn't heard this from anyone else. BALONEY! I don't believe it now that I've Googled it and found plenty of people commenting on the itchy rash. I had to wash my clothes 4-5 times in Dreft HE and Woolite HE just to get the TIDE out of my clothing. My skin is still itching! I've always used Tide but I will never buy it again. The company lied to me about not receiving other complaints. I don't buy it and I WON'T buy their product anymore.

Inappropriate?I used my roommate's laundry Detergent and the next day broke out in a rash all over my body. This was about 4 days ago. I talked to my mother today and she told me she always gets a rash from Tide. So I came home today to check out what detergent it was and low and behold, it was Tide. The one that says Clean Breeze. I hate Tide and I feel like crap. I am now washing all of my clothes with another detergent. I have been taking Benadryl and Zyrtec. I am also using hydrocortisone cream. Nothing seems to be working, I just thought about it today that it me be the detergent that is making me itch and have a rash. Thank god for the internet. I hope i don't have to go to the doctor.
Tide, you suck!!!!!!

Inappropriate?I had the same thing happen. It took me about 2 weeks to figure out the cause and then another 3 weeks to really feel like I got past it! It took about 10 washings to get all the Tide out of some of my clothes! I've never had a skin reaction like this to ANYTHING! When I called the P & G hotline and asked if anyone else had called about this, the operator denied it. I don't believe it. I've seen plenty of blogs about it when I Google "Tide with bleach alternative skin reactions" These products should be recalled! I still have scabs on my back like chicken pox from all the itching. It's been over a month! I have switched from all P & G detergents and have gone to one called Unos or something like that. It's sold at Costco and it isn't harmful to the environment. I have had no problems since I switched. I was a Tide user for more than 20 years. Never never NEVER again!
I’m saying "screw you P & G!"

Inappropriate?I broke out in rashes on my torso about a week ago around the same time I started using a new container of Tide renewing rain. It took me a week to realize that I had accidentally picked up Tide High Efficiency instead of the regular Tide.
